Lydia joined the Maddens Lawyers team in 2024 and has become an asset to the Litigation team.
Lydia holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in French. She previously practiced in New Zealand as a Litigation and Arbitration Associate, representing clients at trial on commercial cases. She recently completed a Masters of Law with Distinction in International Law, for which she was awarded first in class for International Dispute Settlement, Comparative Health Law & Policy, International Peace & Security, and Comparative Human Rights Law. In addition, she was awarded the Meredith Connell Criminal Law Sentencing & Advocacy Award in her undergraduate degree. In December 2003, her research "An ICJ Advisory Opinion on the Legality of Russia Actions in Ukraine" was published in the New Zealand Yearbook of International Law.
Lydia's advocacy and civil litigation experience, and specialty knowledge in health and international law has developed her interest in class actions, in which area she currently practices at Maddens.
Outside of practicing law, Lydia enjoys playing tennis.
