Maddens Lawyers announces new Partner, Deepanshi Agarwal
04 Jul 2024
Ms Agarwal said she is thrilled to join an experienced and respected partnership team.
"Maddens Lawyers has a long history of being a highly valued firm within this region, so I am fortunate to have this opportunity. I work closely with both Fiona and Kathryn and look forward to joining them in the partnership and helping to grow the firm," said Ms Agarwal.
Maddens Lawyers Managing Principal Fiona Giblin welcomed Ms Agarwal to the role on behalf of the partners and the firm.
"We are thrilled and excited to announce that Deepanshi has joined us in the partnership. Deepanshi is a fabulous addition to our Commercial team and to the firm generally. Deepanshi has a very strong accounting and tax background, holding a Master of Tax, and is a wonderful young solicitor whose contribution to and leadership in the firm has been outstanding. Those of our clients who have already worked with Deepanshi will attest to her practical, commercial and pragmatic approach as well as to her strong work ethic 'to get the deal done!'", said Ms Giblin.
Ms Agarwal began working with Maddens Lawyers in 2023 and has quickly become an integral member of the Commercial department. Her expertise in business law and taxation law combined with her commerce knowledge has seen her involved in large-scale and complex commercial matters. Ms Agarwal has also been an asset to the Litigation department, utilising her experience and understanding of class actions to assist in the firm's prominent Cudlee Creek Bushfire Class Action.
"I'm proud to be able to help clients navigate the legal system, and work with them to get the outcome they deserve," Ms Agarwal said.
Ms Agarwal grew up in Delhi in India where she completed her schooling and went on to study a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at Delhi University. In 2015 she moved to Australia where she obtained her Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) and Master of Tax. Post university, she worked in Melbourne across a broad range of legal departments, however in 2023 she decided to make the move to regional Victoria, and she now calls Warrnambool home.
"Working regionally has allowed me to focus more specifically on Commercial Law. The quality of work is on par with what you have in the city, and I am able to help large-scale clients on a more personal level. Moving to Warrnambool has not only provided me with great opportunities but has also given me more work life balance. There is an appeal to moving away from the city hustle," Ms Agarwal said.
Ms Agarwal joins fellow Partners, Managing Principal, Fiona Giblin and Principal, Kathryn Emeny.
