2019 Cudlee Creek fire

In March 2021, Maddens Lawyers launched a class action in the South Australian Supreme Court on behalf of individuals impacted by the Cudlee Creek bushfire on 20 December 2019. This class action seeks compensation for those who suffered personal injury, property damage, or financial loss as a result of the fire.

Current status: January 2026

The claim against SA Power Networks has advanced to trial and ran for five weeks at the end of 2025. The trial is scheduled to continue in 2026, with further evidence to be presented between 10-13 February. Closing submissions are set for 30 March to 2 April.
