Our Lawyer will discuss with you the Terms of Trading details prior to engagement.
Payment terms
Maddens Lawyers terms require payment of all accounts within 30 days of issue of a Tax Invoice. If accounts are not paid, our firm may cease representing you. If accounts are not paid within a 30 day period, we are entitled to charge interest on the amount outstanding at the statutory interest rate.
Interim billingInterim Tax Invoices of fees and expenses may be rendered progressively during the course of your matter.
Trust moneyMaddens Lawyers may ask for money to be paid into a Trust account – to be used to discharge anticipated fees and expenses as they arise.
TerminationYou, as our client, have the right to terminate our services at any time. All fees and expenses incurred prior to termination are then immediately payable. We are entitled to retain all moneys, papers and records until our accounts are paid.
Your commentsIf you have any concerns about the conduct of a matter, you are encouraged to discuss the matter with the Lawyer representing you in the first instance. It is always open to you to seek a second opinion from another lawyer within our firm. Often small misunderstandings can be easily overcome by having another lawyer listen to your concerns.
