Has your land been affected by the Wonthaggi Environmental Audit Overlay?

On 18 January 2024, the Victorian Government placed an Environmental Audit Overlay on 250 properties in the Wonthaggi North East Precinct.

An Environmental Audit Overlay (EAO) is applied to land that has been, or could be, affected by contamination.

The EAO requires landowners to conduct extra planning and environmental audits before any building permits can be obtained or work can commence on site. The EAO may also have a negative effect on the value of land that it has been placed on.
