Maddens Lawyers is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Associates.

Lawyers Sam Pendergast, Philippa Callan, Tatiana Haas and Harry Hall (above) have been promoted to Associate, recognising their development and contribution to the firm.

Managing Principal Fiona Giblin said she was proud of the firm’s current crop of young lawyers.

“Being promoted to Associate is a wonderful achievement and marks a significant career milestone for each of these talented lawyers.

“They have a bright future and we are proud of their successes,” Ms Giblin said.

Tatiana Haas joined Maddens Lawyers in 2021, initially working in estates administration but has recently taken on more commercial and employment law matters. She moved back to her hometown Warrnambool after studying law and working in Brisbane.

Harry Hall joined Maddens in 2022, working across commercial and property law, as well as estates planning. More recently, he has successfully mediated litigation matters for clients and shown great aptitude.

Philippa Callan joined the commercial team in 2024. She began her legal career working in a small property law firm in Canberra before moving to a rural law firm in Griffith where she worked in property transactions and estate planning for farming clients.

Sam Pendergast joined Maddens in 2021 and was admitted to the Supreme Court in March this year. He is part of the experienced will disputes team and litigation department and has worked on large-scale class action matters with thousands of clients to small scale litigation matters with individual clients.

Maddens Lawyers employs more than 45 staff and has a 75-year history in Warrnambool and South-West Victoria. The firm specialises in farming and agribusiness, business and commercial law, property and conveyancing, personal injury, wills and estates planning, and class actions.

Ms Giblin said the firm is “only what it is due to the people who comprise it.”

“It gives me great joy to see the next generation of young practitioners come through – they bring an energy and excitement for the law which is uplifting,” she said.
