Closing submission to be heard in Cudlee Creek Bushfire Class Action trial
Each party will provide an oral outline of the evidence that has been heard throughout the five-week trial that commenced last year, before the Judge makes a final ruling at a later date.
The class action arises from the Cudlee Creek bushfire which burnt across the Adelaide Hills one morning in December 2019, tragically killing one, injuring dozens and destroying 87 homes and businesses, including vineyards and orchards.
Maddens Lawyers is representing lead plaintiff Mr Kris Thrower and thousands of fire victims seeking compensation from SA Power Networks, who allegedly failed to adequately manage its infrastructure, causing the resulting bushfire.
Maddens Lawyers is Australia's preeminent bushfire class action firm, having successfully advanced more than a dozen bushfire class actions, including the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires that cause extraordinary damage across the country.
