2019 Cudlee Creek fire
In March 2021, Maddens Lawyers launched a class action in the South Australian Supreme Court on behalf of individuals impacted by the Cudlee Creek bushfire on 20 December 2019. This class action seeks compensation for those who suffered personal injury, property damage, or financial loss as a result of the fire.
Current status: January 2026
The claim against SA Power Networks advanced to a trial which ran from the end of 2025 to early 2026. The trial has now been completed and a judgement has been reserved however due to the complexity of evidence presented throughout the trial, a judgement is not expected for some time.
